"Well I always feel sex orientation is not deemed by what you're born with. Its all grey area that is so complex to define. They say metro men are feminine. Well I feel why is wanting to take care of yourself a feminine thing. Why is that when they say "he is more connected to his feminine side because he is sensitive. I see it as one. We have made distinctions to differentiate between how both sex works but it's devaluing what people are. Which is not slotting the things you do into boxes. The same thing is used to tell men that man up and don't cry and don't be a sissy. The talk of what real men do and real women do. Real women are strong. How bout saying every human being strives to be strong. So I guess am egalitarian in that view."
A general conversation with a friend that has been happening over a few days and I feel will continue for a few more days.
This is something similar I covered in one of my podcast episodes as well, where we discussed how men are also battling stereotypes on how a MAN SHOULD BE - what makes a man - what doesn't - it is a real problem. Men are groomed to not express because it is unmanly...hey they have the exact same intellectual and cognitive faculties as women - human faculties - this non-expression (in various forms) has led men to be inhibited equally - leading to bad relationships - being abused by their women partners - being put down for self expression.
The bright side - I know a few VERY RUGGED metrosexual men who are compassionate, sensitive, and cry when words fail to express.
Any man out there who has faced this stereotyped-ness aka MEN = BLUE???
Men don't cry.....really?
