Goodbye, I don’t owe you anything

Young Indians are the people we work with daily, here at StayUncle . And some of them enjoy such trust in this team that they have conferred their personal stories to us.

- The reason we didn’t’ visit any of your hotels Uncle, is because we brokeup.

And then sometimes they proceed on and share the full story.

I am humbled by their courage. This is the new Indian I keep ranting about. One who is unafraid of her emotions.

Breakups are normal part of life. They are bound to happen.

The pain is meant to be experienced. The highs and the lows in live is what memories are made of.

When it comes to breakup it is almost always that the guys seem more concerned.

Girls have more options. It is easier for them. It is far more difficult for us.

Well, this is not exactly – True.

It is true that girls have options here in India.

But it is the guy who is tuned to approach the love game having numbers and options in his mind.

Think about the moment you as a guy thought that the girl you are after had all of a sudden become more demanding.

There is a reason behind all this behavior. It lies into our evolutionary programming.

By nature, males are programmed to chase number and spread their seed around as many opportune occasions as possible in order to maximize the chances that their gens will get passed further on.

Things are different with females. They are the giver of offspring and it is in their best interest to chose the strongest male, with the strongest genes. They have only one chance.

Strongest male used to mean different things in the Neanderthal era and today in 21st century but that’s not the point.

The point is that it is the contrary –

Breakups are far more difficult for females than males.

If a girl has gotten that close in a relationship that means that she may have considered you the right candidate and that brings forth huge amount of emotional investment. Men never do that.

For a man this is just another opportunity to effortlessly pass seed, but for the woman it involves a heavy decision over the potential father of a healthy offspring.

That’s how nature’s order is and it exists for its own reasons. Nature has ordered us to obey.

Our plays our dramas, our emotional turmoil are a reflection of our kernel, our most central, deepest, most ancient ordeal which is one of reproducing and passing the genes further on.

We tend to follow that ordeal just as it was 10 million years ago whether we like that or not.

So next time you are facing a breakup, know that it is the female side that bears most of the suffering. Let’s respect that.
