Dear Indian men. Here is why we “suck” on Tinder

A guest post by Anindya Tripathi a reporter/Sub editor at the Statesman. Connect to her over Facebook.

After chiding us for sucking on Tinder (or rather for not, as the rant seemed), let me try and give you another perspective.

What more can you expect from female side of humanity whose ancestors have been burnt at stake for trying to ease the childbirth process, ostracized since ages for fulfilling sexual desires of men and have been forced to fake orgasms to satisfy a man’s ego.

What more do you expect from a generation of humans who have been told time and again since centuries that having or succumbing to any form of sexual desires is nothing short of a sin.

I loved the way you labeled feminism and feminist thinking because it is the biggest joke of this era, equality between sexes? Oh please!

You call being labeled a rapist and denied stag entry a hostile situation?

Well, try being the sex that isn’t allowed the freedom of taking decisions right from the movement they take birth and then we shall talk about hostile situations.

I agree that it is not easy to be a man in India and there are women who expect you be ‘tall, dark and handsome’ and write ‘No hookups’ on their Tinder profiles but all that wouldn’t have been the case had you understood what the so called ‘feminist experts’ were talking about.

Perhaps the last time you asked the ‘Indian Girl’ to check today’s time and date in a calendar, you forgot to check the country in a map sire. That a 21st century Indian uncle still belittles a girl from small town and having traditional parents.

Well, come off it Indian men and women! Lessen the labels for once and set a better example for the generations to come.

Tell them that Pussy is nothing but a female cat, bitch a female dog and not the woman who said a ‘no’ to you. Please remember that cunt is a physiological denotation and the same goes with the balls too, there is nothing demeaning in having them or not having them because gender is a very fluid concept.

It’s perfectly okay to feel like a man, woman or for that matter nothing like them. It’s okay to constantly create and merge your identity because the creature that remains after all this wears off is magical- the Human, with humanity intact.
