How did ancient India made love?

Culture or Sanskriti is a man made phenomena in his attempt to isolate himself from the chaos of nature into a more predictable pattern of existence. Man shaped culture but in return culture also shaped man.

This is why culture is not right or wrong. Culture is simply product of current times.

India is believed to have been a cradle of all sorts of arts including the sensual art. The need of expression so deeply embedded into the Indian genome gave birth to myriad of arts unsurpassed even today.

One of them was the art of love making which the Indian mind of old has taken it to an extraordinary level.

The most beautiful thing about India of those days and the most fascinating part for me is that everything was subjected to one’s ultimate goal – god realization

Love making too was subjected to the same pursuit. Bodies and minds were invited to join together towards union which will bring forth divine realization. Bodies and nudity were not feared off. On the contrary when the goal ahead is clear it is not about the body at all. The body is just the vessel while the play occurs on a different level of consciousness.

Parched a recent Bollywood movie gave a glimpse of how this must have looked like. Those days when man approached a woman not with lust but with a prayer to guide him as he surrenders himself to her, to the goddess inside her.

Sex is just the beginning. It is a culmination of shedding off one’s countless inhibition and fears planted and inherited whatsoever they might be.

Yet in modern times love making has become a forceful act for some and an in-between task for others. We’ve cut the most significant bond there can ever exist between two people, the chance unite.

As a result we end up handicapped. When the individual is blocked and oppressed society also turns wicked. When we are forced to suppress our most natural needs they become even stronger and mutate into something that wasn’t there before.

That is what is happening in India. It’s once progressive civilization and societal norm have now decayed into a limbless mass of obedience division and suffering.

Every couple we serve helps us untie the knot and let the energies flow free. Because when you set one person free you are setting the world free as well.
